What's the big idea? What the hell do I think I'm doing? Who the hell do I think I am?
These and various other questions will likely pop up frequently in this space.

Yeah ok, but what the hell is this space?

Fair question. I'm not really sure yet, to be honest. I've had a website for a couple of years now, but it's been a hassle to maintain, mainly due to the host I was using. I'd always hoped to have a blog as part of the website, too, but always been stopped short by the questions above. I've had blogs at various points in my life, though they have mainly included a lot of introspection and angst. I'd rather avoid that here.

So this space, as I see it right now, will be a place to collect my recent activities. Right now, I think monthly updates seem reasonable. A molasses-slow news feed. I may, of course, indulge in commenting on current events, especially where they concern writing and art. I reserve the right to do whatever I want with this blog, really. It's an ongoing project.

So this is all about you, is it?

Yeah. I mean, isn't that the point? As I said, I've struggled with the idea that anyone really cares about my unrevised thoughts. Who the hell do I think I am, anyway? But it occurs to me that if anyone cares about the art I make, then perhaps they also care about how that art came about and what I think about the world I move through.

So that's the Big Idea. To share what I'm doing and comment on what I see. This is the beginning of that. Thanks for coming along for the ride.
